Vietnam Veterans Day Patriot Point

Monday, 29 March, is National Vietnam War Veterans Day. That date in 1973, the Military Assistance Command – Vietnam (MACV) was disbanded and the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam.

On Monday, Patriots Point will honor Vietnam veterans with free admission to the museum, including for their immediate families. And, it is a day we should especially recognize the war’s veterans among us who fought on land and sea and in the air.

I hope that you can all spend some time at Patriots Point on Monday to make the day special. For all vets, you are invited to wear your uniforms, or articles of your uniforms, to commemorate the day and honor our brothers and sisters.

Patriots Point will be open from 9 AM to 6:30 PM. Our safety protocols remain in place – masking and social distancing

2020 Virtual Veterans Day Parade

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs and VA Medical Center’s Virtual Veteran’s Day Parade airs on the Ralph H. Johnson Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/VAMCCharleston)

On October 18, our post shot videos of our parade on the beach for consideration in the parade. VFW Post 3137 has submitted and VA Medical Center selected our 30 second among the best 150 thirty second videos to be played.

Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day

VFW Post 3137 held a ceremony to honor Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Gold Star Memorial at Patriots Point.

Comrade and Auxiliary members joined with family member to honor their fallen sons and daughters.
